We Hereby Propose
Building a Truly Democratic Organization


We hereby propose to form a democratic organization of citizens, whose function and purpose will be determined by those who join it. Our objective, as conveners of this organization, will be to create tools that will allow us to exploit the full capacity of modern digital communications technology, to connect and organize citizens into fully functioning, and fully democratic, decision-making groups, and to connect those groups into a united functioning democratic whole that will provide citizens with the means of uniting our resources and energies on a scale that will empower us to take effective actions that will favorably affect our safety and happiness. Only by organizing ourselves on this heretofore unprecedented scale can we recapture democratic control over our nation, and then proceed to affect policies that will protect and benefit our Common Good.

The intrinsically decentralized and fully interactive nature of digital communications technology is inherently democratic. It is immediately available at the very fingertips of everyone who has access to a computer and an Internet connection. This technology offers us the capacity to develop democratic systems that have never before been possible. It offers us, at our very fingertips, the capacity to actualize truly democratic decision-making that can lead us directly to united social and political action.

Never before in all History has this decentralized and fully interactive communications capacity existed. Never before have we had the capacity to fully actualize True Democracy. Though we have exploited some of the democratic power inherent in this technology, we have as yet barely scratched the surface of its full potential to directly engage and integrate citizens at the ‘grass roots’ level into decision-making at every level.

We will endeavor to build a truly democratic organization that is rooted in the capacity for the Will of The People to be directly and effectively communicated from the grass roots of the organization to the highest levels of office.

Our highest purpose in this endeavor shall be to create and maintain a means of collective decision-making and action that shall be as genuinely democratic as can be devised by people sincerely devoted to that single purpose above all others.
