Chapter 6d
Geographical Organization by Congressional District
As can be seen from the proposed organizational chart, we have imagined that a geographic organization of the group into local, district, (by US Congressional district), state, and national levels will be most beneficial in the long run. Although non-geographical organizational schemes do offer certain advantages, the nation’s political system is organized geographically, and since affecting the political life of the nation is the basic objective of the organization, geographic organization seems most likely to be more advantageous, for more reasons, in the long run. At the ‘local group’ (sub district) level, perhaps provisions could be made for groups to have the option of organizing by issue affinity, or identity affinity, or some other criteria, in addition to organization by geographic neighborhood. It should be obvious that basic questions such as these will require the application of the thoughtfulness and energies of those who participate to build this project.
