Discuss the creation of an independent democratic organization to advance the Common Good

Chapter 9i
Ancillary Groups
Using social networking technology for outreach

Besides the General Discussion Forums, and the ‘In Session’ Forums, members of Local Groups could also make extensive use of either new proprietary social networking software that the organization would create, or else take advantage of existing social networking software, (My Space, Facebook, etc), in order to attract new interest to the organization, and new members to the Local Groups. This could provide a powerful means of outreach into the community, to inform non-members of the Groups’ objectives and activities, and/or to encourage people to investigate joining.

As can be seen on the organizational chart, (org chart), we imagine that each Local Group will exist within a community network, a sphere of community influence that they will actively seek to create, maintain, and grow. The regular use of social networking technology by individual citizen-members, to involve, to the greatest extent possible, their sphere of friends, family, social, and community contacts with the activities of the organization could be an invaluable tool in spreading our powerful message of True Democracy as widely as possible, to generate expanding participation.
